Session Overview:

Kingsbridge Institute of Learning are proud to welcome Sonia Thompson to explore how do you embed excellence into schools' everyday practices, not as an incidental or an accident, but as an actual ethic? This session will offer Ethic of Excellence toolkit strategies, which can be applied across all ages and phases. The strategies will unpick Ron Berger’s strategies and ethics, and how they apply to classroom practice. 

Biography:

Sonia Thompson is the Headteacher at St Matthew’s C.E. Primary School and the Director of St Matthew’s EEF (Education Endowment Foundation) Research School, in Nechells Birmingham. St Matthew’s is a Sounds Write and Talk for Writing Training Centre and previously held DfE Teaching School status. Her school regularly hosts’ visits for teachers, Head Teachers and MATs, who want to see evidence-informed practice across the curriculum.

Sonia recently published a book called, An Ethic of Excellence in Action; has had articles published and regularly reviews blogs for SchoolsWeek. She has a chapter in, the researchED Guide to the Curriculum and is a contributor to the new WALKTHRUs 3 book. Sonia is a board member of the UKLA National Council and the Birmingham Diocese. She is also a trustee for the Church of England National Society, Classics for All and the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF). Sonia is regularly asked to deliver keynotes and training at various conferences and events, across the country.

You will be invoiced for your booking after the training; please do not issue payment before receiving your invoice. Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date.

Cancellations made within 2 weeks of the training date or non attendance will be subject to a 100% charge. Cancellations made 2 weeks prior to the training date will not be charged.
